"I didn't like it" never said what rank the page would have bought.

The reason was a mood. The page would have filed a different person.

I didn't like it is weather. Weather can be true and still hide the filing. The question is what rank the page would have given you if it had gone out. A smaller one. A needier one. A person who asks the room to grade them. A person who takes the air and leaves no object. That's a standard about rank, and a stranger could apply it to a different page on a different day. A mood can't be applied. A mood is just you, that afternoon, having a feeling.

I used to defend the taste

I used to defend the taste and call it a rule. You don't say the standard as an insult to yourself. You say what the sent version would have made the next question do. I've seen a soft line go out and the next question become are you okay, which is a demotion wearing care. I've seen a muddy line go out and the next question go to someone else who was clearer, which is the room routing around you. Those are rank events. I wasn't feeling it is not a rank event. It's a diary. The diary can be mentioned once, then you return to the route the question would have taken.

What if "I didn't like it" never said what rank the page would have bought?

If you can't say the standard without the mood

If you can't say the standard without the mood, you may have rejected the piece for weather and called it a standard afterward. The hour doesn't need you to have been noble. It needs the difference between a feeling and a filing. The page, the rank it would have bought, the feeling you had. If those two don't match, say they don't. A mismatched no is still information. Pretending the mood was a principle is how the principle gets fuzzy enough to keep everything.

Take your week off the front of it and the line still has to stand on its own. Not I didn't like the vibe. A person who wasn't there can't find your vibe. They can ask a question. Would this send make the next ask about the work, or about whether you're alright. Would a stranger know what action it wants. Does it file the sender as the one who needs the room, or as the one who brought a thing. Those can be used on a page you've never seen. If the standard only works inside your mood, it isn't a standard. It's a diary entry with rules vocabulary.

The gap is the hard part because a folder full of versions

The gap is the hard part because a folder full of versions lets you avoid choosing. Choice says this one represents me and that one doesn't. People would rather be the person who tried a lot. Tried a lot is a mood. Represents is a filing. I've seen the next question go to the person who had one thing out and nothing else in the folder, and the folder person had more work and a worse rank. The room can't file a folder. It files the thing that arrived.

A better one later is a hand with nothing in it today

A better one later is a hand with nothing in it today. Sometimes the keep is a real replacement, a second line that went out the same day, and you can hold both up. Sometimes the promise is an empty hand. The faces can tell. A real keep has an object. An empty hand has a sentence about the future. Don't invent a brilliant replacement so the no feels justified. If the replacement isn't done, the keep is the empty slot where the weak line would have been.

With the draft still open, read the line that stopped you, once. Take this week's story off the front of it. Put the other piece in the hand, or leave the hand empty. Don't open the folder so the no looks like a practice. A stranger should be able to ask where the question would have gone.

The recording stays with that folder until the tap is obvious. The other hour is the live draft, still open, you saying whether one click can still send it.

A mood dressed up as a rule

I didn't like it. Taste. A vibe. A mood dressed up as a rule. I know that mood. It can reject a page and still have no standard a stranger could use. I used to defend the taste. One line stayed unsent. The reason has to travel to a page you didn't write. The line was still in the draft. It didn't go out. That's a rejection you can see, and it doesn't need a speech about standards before we see the thing. A sentence, a cut, a page, an offer. It existed. It was close enough to send that it was sitting in the draft, or on the timeline, or in the hand. Then it didn't go. The face, if you were alone, is yours, looking at the thing and not releasing it. If somebody else was in the room, their face expected the send. The gap between their expectation and the thing staying put is the opening of the hour.

One piece. A second rejection will try to join so the decision looks like a practice instead of a single uncomfortable no. A practice is a personality. This hour is a piece of work. I've watched a list of rejected things get respect and leave the listener unable to picture any of them. One line, still in the draft, is a picture. The next question a serious face asks is "what did it say." If you can't answer because you already buried it under a theory of taste, you rejected the evidence along with the line.

This week, not a greatest hit from a harder year. The draft should still be findable, or the memory of it should still have the actual words. If the words are gone, say they're gone. Don't write a nobler rejected line so the no looks cleaner. The clumsy line that stayed in the draft is the one the week actually refused.

The reason was a mood. The page would have filed a different person. "I didn't like it" is weather.

What you kept might also be silence

What you kept might also be silence. The draft stayed, and nothing replaced it, and the hour went to a different piece that was ready. Silence is a keep when the alternative was the weak send. You can show that. The thing you didn't send. The thing you did touch instead. A face that noticed the absence, or didn't. If nobody noticed, the rejection didn't buy you a drama. It bought you a cleaner route for the next question, which is quieter than a story and more useful.

It shows up again tomorrow: "I didn't like it" never said what rank the page would have bought.
